Lions for Lambs

Tod and I went to see Lions for Lambs while my Dad and Carmen (nanny/mother's helper) stayed with the kids and Naty at her house and, wow, it's just all so convoluted, you know? So much goes into everything in life. What a complicated mess we have made out of it all. It made me want to walk out in the beginning and then it made me just want to sit there and sob at the end.

Throughout and after it all, though, I just kept coming back to the fact that I was made for thinking about these things and for writing and sharing about them. Community, politics, social and world prospects and issues are definitely for me and I have a feeling 2008 will be quite the year not just for the elections but for my self-expression in this area. Funny I knew back in 1995 this would be the year ... it's high time for it and I SO look forward to it.

Today Also Is ... Veteran's Day

Happy Veteran's Day to all the veterans out there, including my big bro, Lu. What an unbelievable choice and sacrifice to make to serve your country in this manner ... it renders me truly speechless. Whatever the reasons, whatever the path taken to the choice, thanks are in order. You have mine.
