Unexpected

I have not been much into music since having Ian in 2003. I guess being a stay-at-home Mom, I never went out in the car every morning anymore (that's when I used to listen to my music mostly, to-and-from work) and even when I did, blaring music in it is not what I would do with a baby in his car seat. So, I don't know much about music these days.

When I go to the gym, I always take my iPod though. For whatever reason, however, our laptop's iTunes program deleted my settings and keeps loading Tod's songs into my iPod. And that's when the unexpected happened ... finding songs he likes that I like. We don't really have the same tastes in music, shall I say.

My latest find is Fred Durst's & Limp Bizkit's Mission Impossible 2 anthem, Take A Look Around. I totally love it for cardio with its great beat but I'm even more taken by the surprising lyrics. You see, I don't know much about this band or Mr. Durst other than when I saw something about him writing about Britney Spears on his blog or something wayyyyyy back when, after after she and Justin Timberlake had broken up (seems like another lifetime). And, whatever he said or wrote, I just remember thinking he came off as some cocky kid.

I'll tell you what though - cocky or not, whatever he is or may be or not, I like what he wrote a whole lot so, yeah, I'm even more so for the unexpected now. I love how life can always be surprising. Like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.
