I Believe It

When there is harmony in the home,

there is order in the nation
When there is order in the nation,
there is peace in the world

I'd never seen this Chinese proverb before but boy, do I love it and do I believe it! I have always said it ALL starts in the home. You screw that up and well, it's just a needlessly uphill battle for all involved.

I also especially love the fact that the word HARMONY is in this proverb because in yesterday's mail, I received a very special gift from my old friend, Lisa (Lebo), whom I had lunch with last Tuesday, as you may recall. She sent me a rock with the word HARMONY written on it and a sweet note saying how great it was to have seen me and how happy she was I had found harmony in my life. SOOO sweet! Love that girl, I tell you! Funny that I wanted to bring a gift to her to our 1st meeting but couldn't think of something that would aptly capture the moment. We just think alike in that sense. Very giving. Can't wait to see her again.

Anyway, I also love the word harmony because it has come up lately in relation to The Secret and James Ray, one of the people featured in it. He says he does not believe in balance because in balance, nothing is happening, and that what we're actually looking for is harmony, like in a song how all the notes just play together. He says there are 5 areas in life and they're not all always at their best. In other words, we're always working on something. I think he's right on. And so, again, as with the proverb, I believe it!
