A "Foggy Fog" New Year

This is what it looked like at the farm early this morning. I've gotta say I LOVE fog. I've probably said it here before on the blog. This morning it kind of was how I was feeling, too - in a fog - and it wasn't from drinking because we don't drink. I mean, I have my glass of wine here and there but that's about it.
I think I was - no, I know I was - in a fog because I went to sleep that way. I was super tired after all the holiday stuff of the weeks before, running 10 miles on Sunday, helping my Dad move and clean his apartment yesterday. After coming back from doing that at almost 6 PM and hanging out for a bit, I bathed the boys and then laid down with Dylan at about 8:30 PM and by 9 PM he was fully asleep. I changed into my PJ's at about 9:30 PM and it was lights out here at 10.
We usually wake up at 11:55 PM to catch the NYC ball-drop on TV but not this year. This year, we slept right through it. The only way we knew it was 2008 was by the sound of fireworks and the phone ringing at 12:04 AM. I didn't get up to answer it even when I heard my Mom's voice. I looked around at my bed and saw my 2 boys and my hubby peacefully asleep and that's all I needed to know. We were home, safe and sound, together and at peace and that's what I want for 2008. I wish everyone the best - make that the ABSOLUTE best - but, for the 1st time in my life, I am just concentrating on me and my direct family and that started at 12 midnight. :-) It'll be a good thing for everyone. In fact, I have a feeling it's gonna be a really good year for us all. Make it so for you and yours, too, and have yourself loads of fun while you're at it! I know I will. XOXO
