"You're Not Qualified"

I heard this in a movie yesterday and it reminded me of when it's been said to me. I had to laugh because I saw that people say those sorts of things because it's the easiest way to shoot the other person down - especially when they have a very valid point, view or observation - without having to prove it. The movie, by the way, is Freedom Writers, a true-story with Hilary Swank and Patrick Dempsey, and it's just AWESOME! So, so inspiring.

In my opinion, qualifications are at most preferable in many cases, especially such cases as medical conditions, legal situations and the like. In most other stuff though, especially matters of humanity and the heart, being human is usually qualification enough. Who needs a law degree to see life clearly or to care or to say "I love you" or to want to make a difference for another? No one, that's who. That qualification is inherent in being and, especially, in a good heart and since I believe most people are good, that makes the majority of people, in my opinion, more than qualified.
